Best trails near Ahornriegel

It is a relatively short round trip that leads to the summit of the Ahornriegel. It begins at Liftstrasse and follows Pürzerriegelweg to begin the ascent through the forest. At the crossroads with other paths, it makes a sharp curve and leads to Schönblick. From there it goes via the Baierweg to the summit.

This route starts in Rimbach and leads to the nearby peaks of the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park. The peaks along the way include the Farrenruck, the Bärenriegel, the Eckstein, the Schwarzriegel and the Ahornreigel. On the way there are several places to stop and many great views.

Cross the main road from the tourist information and walk along Hohenbogenstraße. Shortly after the Hohenbogen holiday hotel, turn half right and go straight uphill to the edge of the forest. From here, steep and flat sections alternate until you come to a rest area with a fountain. Extension to the European long-distance hiking trail E6, Bavaria. This 34km route is a branch line of the European Main Path E6. It goes through the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park.
