Cross the main road from the tourist information and walk along Hohenbogenstraße. Shortly after the Hohenbogen holiday hotel, turn half right and go straight uphill to the edge of the forest. From here, steep and flat sections alternate until you come to a rest area with a fountain. You continue hiking on the very nicely developed Neukirchner Weg, past various elevations of the Hohenbogen (see also the hiking brochure: Four fabulous thousands), to the forest service hut, which (except November) is open all year round (possibility of a detour to the Burgstall, on the there is a transmission system of Bavarian radio and television). From the forest service hut, follow the Nk3 marking to the left again and steeply uphill. After about 4 km of hiking along the mountain ridge you reach the mountain station of the Hohenbogen chairlift and the Berghaus, probably the most beautiful in Bayer. forest (1 050 m). A stop is recommended. (Nov. closed, otherwise open like cable car). A wonderful all-round view is offered to the visitor from the mountain station. You can take the chairlift down to the valley. From the valley station, where there is also an inn, you take the hiking trail Nk4 or Nk11 and get back to Neukirchen b.Hl.Blut. However, if you decide to continue the hike on the Nk3, you follow a section of the downhill run from the Berghaus, dive back into the forest and reach the Berghaus Schönblick, which is also serviced. Here again there is a wonderful view. You continue to follow the Nk3 marking and, after a long descent, come to an open area where you continue to the left, later cross the Liftstraße and reach the first houses. At the transformer station, turn right and follow the path downhill to the starting point.
