Forested hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. This very beautiful path begins in Hoellhoehe at the Ferienhotel Waldschloessl and can be reached on foot via the Nk5 or by car on the pass road from Neukirchen b.Hl.Blut. At the Waldschloessl car park, walk in the direction of the CHA46 district road, along which you walk to the left until you reach a gravel path. Here you pass the Hoellkreuz. You hike through the pistes of the Hoellkreuz ski area in the direction of Kolmstein on a shady forest path. On the Kolmsteiner-Hoehe you will find a small church and the Kolmsteiner-Hof inn (closed on Mondays) with a wonderful view of the Freibachtal and the Hohenbogen-Winkel. Walk past the inn in the direction of Absetz, again on a shady forest path, and come to the Tanneneck inn. From Tanneneck the hike can be continued on the Nk25 or the marking with the black dot in the red field to Rittsteig or on the Nk13 via the Unterkaltenhofstraße to Mais. Walk downhill on the tarred road in Mais and turn left onto the Nk5, which leads along a brook to Kolmstein and from there back to Hoellhoehe (as a loop trail Nk9 - Nk13 - Nk5 approx. 10 km). Highlights of the hike: - Hoellkreuz - idyllic forest - Stop at the Kolmsteiner Hof
