Charming hike in Rittsteig, Bavaria. The starting point for this hike is the village square in Rittsteig. After the church, follow Oberkaltenhofstraße until it turns off to the right and take the mountain path that leads to Neurittsteig. In Neurittsteig, cross the tarred road, walk across the hiking parking lot to the wooden log cabin of the WSV Rittsteig, after which you turn left into the small tarred road, which you follow to the next property. After this property, turn left and follow hiking trails Nk 23, Nk 24 and Nk 25 for approx. 1.5 km. At the fork, continue right to the rest area at the Red Cross and turn right to Fahrenberg. Continue on rustic forest paths along a ridge into a rocky region with a steep descent to Absetz and Gasthaus Tanneneck. There is a hiking trail connection to Nk 9 to Kolmstein or Nk 13 to Mais.
