Best backpacking trails in Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park
The Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park borders the Bavarian Forest Nature Park to the south and the German-Czech border to the east. It is the fourth largest nature park in Bavaria and covers the districts of Cham and Schwandorf. Hikers can enjoy varied nature and explore the small Arbersee lake with its floating islands, the Rötelsee area with its many wild animals and migratory birds or the Höllbach with its rocks and wooded areas. There is a castle museum in Falkenstein Castle Park and historic castle ruins to discover in Sattelpeilstein Castle Park and the Schwarzenberg pile ruins.
Nature can be explored with all your senses - alone or with the help of the regularly offered guided tours. During the summer vacations, there is an additional vacation program and events for children with the motto "On the trail of nature".
