Schanzgrabenweg (Ek07)

Popular loop trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the hiking information board by the church, you hike along Siegmund-Adam-Strasse in the direction of the upper part of the Warzenried holiday resort. Immediately at the Parkhotel complex in the Bohemian Forest, the hiking trail turns left onto a narrow tarred road. Passing the hotel complex and some properties, this street leads into Lehmgrubenstrasse. Walk up Lehmgrubenstrasse on the right for approx. 150 m until you reach the last property on the left-hand side of the street. There is also a water discharge shaft at this point. Here you turn left onto a field path. You can see a piece of forest in front of you, which you will reach shortly. Along the so-called Schanzgraben, a forest path, you walk through it to a tarred road with little traffic. The hiking trail Ek7 runs to the right, along the Schanzweg and turns right after about 100 m before the state border into the Boehmerwaldstraße. You hike along the border strip on the Bohemian Forest Road for about 1.5 km until you turn right onto a forest road. Here you go straight ahead and then you come to Lehmgrubenstraße. This hike goes back via the Siegmund-Adam-Strasse, past the Parkhotel complex in the Bohemian Forest, to the starting point at the church square in Warzenried.
