Obernried Loop (Ww03)

Popular loop trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the starting point in Obernried, follow the markings out of the village. Arrived at the field cross and signpost, turn left onto a field path that turns into a meadow path. From here you have a beautiful view of Čerchov, Hohenbogen and even the king of the Bavarian Forest, the Arber. After an easily walkable forest path, the asphalt road follows to the right to the Kuglhof. If you pay attention, you will discover a carved squirrel along the path in the forest. After visiting the chapel, the path continues along the game reserve to Darstein. Passing an old oven, the markings point to the left into the Kirchenbühl. The Darsteiner Kircherl is reached after a short walk. The grotto behind the church is also worth seeing and invites you to take a break. You continue along the Way of the Cross to the first station on a narrow path. At the end of the forest, the markings point across a clearing to the edge of the forest. Follow this until you enter a path lined with stone walls and bushes, which soon turns into forest paths. After the partially dark coniferous forest, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Kolmberg. 700 meters are now to the center of Balbersdorf. Here the trail turns north. In the valley it goes along ponds and small streams to the Klinglmühle. At the sawmill, the path branches off to the right. After crossing the company premises, you cross a small stream. The path now leads past pastures into the forest. Soon you reach a beautiful forest clearing with hunters' seats. The trail continues along stone walls.
