This hike is a long, rarely undertaken tour in the Berchtesgaden National Park. The first half of the hike is a steep climb up to the Fagstein. The route starts at the Hinterrand parking lot (fee required) and initially leads along a wide, well-maintained path via the Jenner middle station to the crossroads above the Königsbachalm. The route continues along the Enzianbrennhütte on an even wider path to the seasonally managed Priesbergalm, where the paths become narrower and the route leads along a grassy steep slope to the Roßfeldern and finally steeply uphill on unmarked rocky paths to the summit of the Fagstein. The magnificent, secluded view rewards the challenging ascent. Downhill, the route goes over wide, rugged, wide carts over the east face and over the wide saddle between the Fagstein and Windschartenkopf to the Rotspielscheibe. The paths are unmarked and require surefootedness. Continue to the fork in the ascent, where you take the familiar path along the Klnigsweg back to the Hinterbnrand.
