Best trails in Lamington National Park
Lamington National Park is located on Queensland's Lamington Plateau of the McPherson Range. Its landscape consists of mountains with panoramic views, lush rainforests, creeks and waterfalls home to many animals, including threatened bird species, making it a great place to hike, camp and watch wildlife.
The park lies on the southern edge of the Scenic Rim, a chain of mountains stretching from the Gold Coast hinterland to Mount Mistake and is joined by parks, such as the Border Rangers National Park in New South Wales. Lamington National Park is made up of two sections — Green Mountains and Binna Burra. Green Mountains section is located on the western side of the Lamington Plateau. The Binna Burra section encompasses the rest of the park to the east.

Trail reviews for Lamington National Park
Completed the Toolona Creek Circuit in an anticlockwise direction in the early morning. Best time to see the Antarctic beech trees along the border track. The waterfalls and rainforest scenery were spectacular! Be prepared for leeches when it’s wet, there were hundreds of them. Also spotted a superb lyrebird, lamington crayfish and a dingo. One of the best walks in Lamington National Park.
Probably one of, if not my favorite trails in the Springbrook and Lamington national park area. Did this track after a decent dry spell, so there was very minimal mud, but have done the border track portion in the past after rain and it can get quite muddy. Even with little recent rain all the waterfalls were spectacular. The portion of the trail from the lookout over Coomera Falls to the border track is full of waterfalls and cascades. Definitely would recommend this as a must do track for anyone hiking in the Springbrook\Lamington area.
Cave's loop walk, Binna Burra, Lamington National Park.
A varied walk showing off some of the best of the Lamington forests
Amazing, did with a mate on a weekend some foot traffic but nothing crazy, doing Coomera circuit in the past I can’t believe it’s rated higher then this. For me #1 hike in Lamington NP. The diversity of ecosystems and the views are stunning. Gorgeous alpine heathland.
Awesome trail. Wear hiking boots as creek crossings can be very slippery. Worth bringing a pair of sandals for the drive home as my shoes were super wet and muddy. Lots of waterfalls. Mostly shaded. No leeches but we saw a lamington cray and a couple of giant skinks.
