Explore the most popular Bird Watching trails in Lamington National Park with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

From all the Great Walks this is my least favourite. It felt like they were just some walks strung together. Though camp grounds, signage and views were still stunning, hence 4 stars anyway.

Great hike, trail isn’t well worn but easy enough to follow with tree markers. Lots of rocks, tree roots and fallen trees. A few good flat spots to camp. Waterfalls, massive trees and plenty of bird life, great day or overnight hike!

lovely walk to the waterfalls then it rained for the next several hours and the leeches came out, so didn't stop as none of the lookouts had any views. Did the entire wall in 5.15 hrs.

The day started fine however after Westrays gravesite it got a bit serious. As a lone (too old for this...according to family of 5 females) hiker the biggest was yet to come as the rain set in and everything got very slippery. Took a little over 6 hours but well worth it. Thank you to those that have tied ribbon along the trail... great help in the wet. Had planned to come back along the Stretcher track but too much with the rain, another day maybe. May recording came up with 11.3km and 701 elevation.

Great trail with some really nice waterfalls. Some muddy patches along the way but nothing too bad. There is a decent camping area along the way also. Took just over 4.5 hrs at a pace of 16.2 min/km.

Great hike waterfalls are stunning

I've done this hike twice in 2 weeks to the Stinson by myself and one with a friend it's such a beautiful hike challanging straight away when u start the climb up then u head down along the side of the ridge line than another step climb and bit of a zig zag to the rope climb after the rope climb I found it a lot better when on the ridge line to point look out but such amazing bit of history and I even went to bernard oriely gave to pay my respects that brang a tear to my eye I reckon winter is the best time to hike this track beautiful views from point look out looking down into northern Nsw .

Nice trail starting at the car park near the tea house. About 3km on Border track before you get to Daves Creek Circuit.

Beautiful hike with scenic views and spectacular waterfalls.

Great hike. Very beautiful waterfalls and lookouts! The trail is pretty muddy in some parts and it's a thin trail.

Great trail. Closer to 12kms. Beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. Best walked during the cooler months.

Good intermediate track. Did the recommended route from O'Reillys to Springbrook. Signage was great, you honestly could probably do it without a map (not that I'd recommend that). Be prepared for some sharp declines and ascensions! I certainly finished with some very sore legs

Good track, there was a major tree down across the track so be prepared for some climbing

The general consensus is to do this walk anti - clockwise - which is what I did but not having done it as sign posted I cannot really compare. Nevertheless a very enjoyable walk. Lots of nice waterfalls. The track is easy to follow generally as it goes down the Toolona creek. Care required on the many creek crossings as the rocks are very slippery. Some parts are muddy. I would recommend waterproof hiking boots but if you don’t mind them getting wet and muddy - you could wear sneakers or running shoes. The border track part is comparatively boring so good to get this done first.

Did this track both clockwise and anti clockwise, staying over night.

Stunning waterfalls all along the way and a great walk. Not too strenuous.

I did this anticlockwise as another reviewer had recommended. Definitely a good idea. You get the boring border track out of the way then at around 6km in you start to see some beautiful sights. Following and crossing the creek you encounter lots of waterfalls. Some nice views along the way too. 3h 36m with no break.

very good trac

I’ve done this walk many times over the years and it’s always a great day out. I recommend going clockwise - dropping into the creek first and walking up the creek before returning along the border track. That way you are looking towards the numerous waterfalls as you approach them. Also, going clockwise, the second half of the hike is gentle, along the relatively flat escarpment and then an easy gradual descent along the border track. Going anti-clockwise leaves you with a long steep climb at the end of the day, but had the advantage that, for some reason, most people go this direction so you come across less people during the day.

Great hike but when you get to the 5km mark there’s a sign that the rest of the track is close until further notice. Still a 10km return track with two swimming holes on the way.

Plenty of switchbacks to help with climbs. Well signposted. Beautiful scenery & wildlife. A bit more challenging after rain. Take the time to have a look at what is on offer.

Easy walking, very little grade. Beautiful rainforest for much of it and then you come to the stunning views of the valley. Loved it. Can’t wait to go back and try Ships Stern. Saw birds I’ve never seen before and am curious to find out what they are. Also many other birds and potaroos?

Really enjoyable walk. Beautiful views when you get about halfway through the walk.

Loved this walk beautiful vistas along escarpment. Saw a couple of snakes that didn’t bother us. Lots of native flowers along the way. Varied terrain and vegetation made such an interesting walk. Track was a little muddy in places after the recent rain. Thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful walk on a surprisingly wet day. astounding views along the way. Not even the constant showers could ruin the hike. i think it just made it more beautiful and scenic. some part we were even walking in the clouds, magic!
