Great hike - went on a slightly overcast day after a rainy week. Great shade cover 90% of the way. Slightly muddy, but nothing too bad. Took about 5hrs in total, anticlockwise from O’Reillys to Elebana, then along Canungra creek. Half a dozen creek crossings with shoes off, got a few leeches on the long eastern stretch of the creek. 1 Plenty of blue tongue lizards, saw a crayfish that had climbed up about 8m from the creek in the middle of the trail infront of me - pretty amazing!! 1 python sunning itself, along with more waterfalls than I could count. Relatively easy on any uphill climbs this way, just the distance would be the major difficulty. A swim at the end before heading back up the trail would be a great way to cool off before the last hour of the trip. Enjoyed a well deserved beer and burger afterwards with a great view at the cafe too. Happy hiking 8km total, 5hrs
Very slippery and lots of river crossings. It’s very hard to keep your feet dry. I ended up walking through some of them as the ricks were too slippery to walk across. Save the little crayfish, birds and only one snake. Hard yakka. I did it anticlockwise and I will try it the other way soon. Long arduous climb back up to Oreilleys. Saw people heading down with no maps, sandals, thongs and mini dresses. Be careful of getting leaches.
We did the Box Forest full circuit which loops through and includes this walk at the end. This walk is beautiful, and the falls are breathtaking! We did this walk after a massive storm, so it was quite muddy, but totally worth it. Absolutely loved it!
We walked clockwise and the waterfalls are fantastic! The trail is narrow in parts & a few creek crossing a bit tricky! From Toolona lookout back to O’Reilly’s is easy walking but very muddy. Great view from lookout. Long and tiring but worth the walk!
Great walk, highly recommend. Keep an eye out for the Lamington Spiney cray! Great waterfalls & some interesting water crossings! Just do it!
The Trail was really beautiful. Worth doing the whole circuit. Don’t miss the box falls
A little muddy due to the recent rain... but that meant all the waterfalls and swimming holes were full! Thoroughly enjoyed it. I took a picnic and ate it at elabana falls after a swim but there were many areas to do this along the way
We loved this hike, it was truly amazing. We saw 2 blue crayfish and the waterfalls were running as we there was a fair bit of rain earlier on. The rock hopping was really fun too. An awesome hike.
Spectacular, was very wet when we went but still pretty easy to navigate. Took about 3.5hrs with lots of stopping for photos.
Really nice track, bit muddy from last weeks rain, but the falls looked beautiful.
