Best trails in Glass House Mountains National Park
The Glass House Mountains National Park is located just outside the Sunshine Coast and just under an hour from Brisbane. It has an awe-inspiring landscape that consists of huge volcano cores that are 26 million years old sprouting from the flat plains with the remnants of the open Eucalypt woodland and heathy vegetation that would have dominated this area before European settlement. There is also pine plantations and mixed farmland found through out the plains. This area is so unique that it is part of the Queensland and National Heritage Register and was only established in 1994.

- (2837)·Moderate·1.5 miThis track is great for those who want to take small steps to build up to the more challenging mountains. While it’s not overly difficult, the path can be slippery and a little muddy just after rain and there are a few steep sections along the way to the summit. The track passes through open forest and fern understory before rising steeply up Mount Ngungun. As with most peaks in the Glasshouse Mountains there are amazing 360 degree views at the top but take care near the cliff edges and be...
- (1385)·Strenuous·2.2 miThe Jinibara and Kabi Kabi peoples respectfully request that visitors refrain from climbing to the summit of Mount Tibrogargan, out of respect for their culture and traditions. As one of the iconic 12 mountains, Mount Tibrogargan is a significant Indigenous geographical landmark that forms a key part of local indigenous Dreamings. Aboriginal people considered Tibrogargan the father of all the Glass House Mountains, except for his wife, Beerwah (a nearby peak). If you do wish to climb it,...

- (950)·Moderate·2.2 mi·Est. 1.5–2 hrSpectacular 360-degree views of the Sunshine Coast hinterland await at the summit of this brisk climb. Starting through a small pocket of lush rainforest, the path quickly transitions into open eucalyptus woodland, where you might spot a grey kangaroo or hear the laughter of a kookaburra in the canopy. The final stretch is a sustained and very steep push along a paved concrete path, leading you directly to the fire tower at the peak. From this height, the distinct silhouettes of the other...

- (621)·Moderate·1.0 miThis trail is lesser know than to the peaks in the Glass House Mountains Range. The trailhead from the road is not very visible. Best to park at the main car park for Tibrogargan and then walk down the road a couple of hundred meters. The path is quite narrow the entire way up and it’s far from flat or even, so you’ll need to watch your footing. Once at the top make sure you turn left...
