Trail reviews for Glass House Mountains National Park
A great trail leading up to the summit, mostly made up of dirt and rocky paths, so it could get slippery in wet conditions. The final climb is definitely worth it, with a viewing platform at the top offering stunning 360° views of the Glass House Mountains National Park. I would advise parking at the Mount Tibrogargan Car Park, as suggested on AllTrails. Not sure why this trail isn’t popular - it’s probably my favorite in this area!
Combined soldiers, tibrogargan, trachyte circuit and Yul-Yan-man loop. Amazing way to experience the whole of the glass house mountains. Tibrogargan is a steep rock scramble in parts, views worth it.
I agree with those who say that this walk is a leg killer! The path is no longer really a path, it is downright a road, the entire ground is concreted. Prepare yourself to be leaning all the way, your ankles will be put to work. Benches are available on the path to allow you a little rest for your legs and a refreshment break. A little courage, as well as a little cardio, and you will be rewarded with a very beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains.
Beerburrum: I agree with those who say that this walk is a leg killer! The path is no longer really a path, it is downright a road, the entire flowerbed is concreted. Prepare to be bent over the entire way, your ankles will be put to work. Benches are available on the way to allow you a little rest for your legs and a refreshment break. A little courage, as well as a little cardio, and you will be rewarded with a very beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains. Yul Ya Man trail: Very nice walk, with varied landscapes + view of the Glass House Mtns, as well as the ground mats! You will encounter both earth, grass and other brush, gravel, larger stones, and rock walls to "climb". You will face 2 of these parts: - from the beginning of your hike (when you start from the foot of Beerburrum), on most of the part you will not need to use your hands to climb the rocks. I found this part the funniest of the whole hike. - towards the panorama (lookout) you will have a fairly steep descent, easily descendable standing up (leaning backwards), but if you are not reassured, you can always descend sitting down. The path is mostly marked with small pink triangles, fixed on rocks or wooden posts, when this is not the case, simply follow the pink ribbons attached to the trees. Definitely bring more water than usual, you'll need it to "survive" the Yul Ya man!!! (Really!) A hat, a cap, or something to protect you from the sun! We wouldn't bet on it, but it does get through and hit your skin hard. Wear sunscreen! And good shoes, with good crampons, will give you much better grip on the path (even if simple running shoes can do the trick, if you are careful!) Ps: if you are not familiar with the hike, do not do the 2 together. Mistake I made… The yul ya man can seem really long…
Beautiful trail with different terrains, made me see Glass House Mountains as from a different angle The toughest bit was the steep incline heading to the glass house Mountains lookout.
A nice walk through Casuarina and Eucalypt forest for the first 1km then ascend the mountain. A nice short but steep rocky walk to saddle. Turn left to see great views of all glass house mountains. Look West to see Mt Mike T. Out and back in about 45 minutes. Would be OK for little kids. Do early in the morning as it would be hot in the afternoon due to trail going up west side.
