Explore the most popular National Parks in Australia with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

The trail is NOT dog friendly - dogs are not permitted in Tamborine National park. The fines are large so check before going as the app is misleading

GPS is a must. Trails are pretty rocky at times and a bit sandy. Some good scenary and wildlife along the way.

This walk is so far the best I went to..really enjoyed the nature and the bush !!

stunning walk ... I just wondering how can you give 1pt or 3 pt for this beautiful track ... only minus could be because you can meet a lot of pople nearby Echo Pt ... guys wake up! I prefer more hidden tracks in Blue Mts like Blackheath area but this one is perfect for first time to fall in love with this stunning mountains!! So many lookouts nice forest rock formations!! Must to do for everyone!!

This is a challenging but manageable hike. It took us 4 hours including a few stops and lunch up at the top. You need to keep your eye on the track as it’s a rock scramble for a large section. Stunning views at the top. We did it as an out and back from the carpark not as a loop as the map suggests.

Fantastic track with excellent markings. Took me three and a half hours. Some slippery and muddy bits plus a shoes off creek crossing but a really beautiful walk.

Leave your car at the top of Glenraphel drive and walk down the dirt road (approx 2ks to the Golden Stairs). The dirt road is fine if you have a 4wd, but if you have a car, it's probably better to leave it as the road is not that well maintained.

The walk itself is worth it. The views from the top of the ruined castle (big rock formation) is awesome. apart from the Golden Stairs, the walk is easy. But going down and up the GS is tough going (only 800m, but very steep).

1hr 40m each way.

This was not an easy walk. It would have been if the path was clear but we were constantly climbing over or under fallen trees. Vines covered the path making passage difficult and tripping us at times. The path was marked by pink ribbons which was great otherwise we would have not known exactly where to go for much of the way. At times we had to use our hands to keep balance and climb. But apart from it not being easy it was a picturesque walk and the wreck, although small, was interesting.

Nice easy walk

Not moderate, hard, I've had people tell me this is harder than the 1000 steps, we will say this track starts from the bottom of glasgow road, everyone parks at the bottom for it, the hike isnt easy, as it is nothing but uphill, it starts off night and easy, then it becomes a real grind until the final few minutes of the walk. once you're at the 'top' turn right for the lookout, the view is stunning.

Lovely location, in a few parts there’s water to cross, so bring the correct footwear. Not hard but a few hills I had to carry my 2 year old up. Worth the trip.

Steady track and amazing views. Jump rope to swing off and bomb into an ICE COLD rock pool at the summit. Family friendly track.

Love the 1000 steps. Always a great cardio workout

Lovely loop walk, it really is quite steep in places. Super easy to navigate. We did the loop with 7, 5, 3 and 1 year old. I would recommend it for 5 and up. We carried the 1 year old in a pack, and that was ok. The three year old really struggled due to all the repeated hills. So we had to carry him also.

Easy track - can’t wait till whole section is open again! Is worth going to Warringa Pool especially in summer

Great track loved the amazing changes in the vegetation but we went around the wrong way but still a good hike

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever walked!

Lovely walk and great scenery. Moderate inclines not too strenuous. Took just over two hours at a leisurely pace from start to finish. Will definitely go back in near future.

Beautiful overlooking the ocean

very good, easy going

The hike is long but not hard. Pretty well marked throughout.

Excellent views. Make sure you do the side trips if you can for views as they're worth it. Waterfall and cascades less so.

We did the whole thing plus most sides in 6.5hrs including leisurely lunch and short breaks. We are reasonably fit.

WHALES GALORE! Parked at the visitors centre, went to the cove and followed all the new metal paths. Took all the touristy photos. Took 1h45m there at the lighthouse. And 1h15m back though the sandy which was a real shortcut. Just beware those paths are washed out with puddles and be prepared for bush bashing in that case. Highly recommended and very quiet trail. Didn’t see one person around on a weekday arvo! Took my flight elderly dad. The metal trail is still being completed.

Great for those who want to build up to the more challenging mountains. Can be challenging if you’re unfit but definitely doable. The path can be slippery and a little muddy just after rain and there are a few steep sections. Amazing views at the top but take care near the edges and keep watch of children.

Very touristy, not for us.

Admittedly we were there on a weekend, Saturday. Still.

Lots of people walking off the path and breaking every rule for a Kodak moment. Yuk.

The falls itself was nice. As usual falls are better after a bit of rain.

You enter from the top but you can also choose to walk to the bottom of the falls.

Lovely spot. We got there early so we could take photos at our own pace.

We had some annoying people there who felt the need to jump the fences to get their Kodak moment, and then decided it wasn’t enough so sent the drone out. Please! You can get great photos without having to destroy the landscape and ruin it for others!

Would have liked to have seen this at dawn as others have said but we didn't have the luxury of time on our side. Still, it's a decent hike up and views are nice.

As the day progresses the haze gets worse and hence why dawn would be best.

The last stretch may be a little challenging for some as you’re scrambling over rock at steep height. There are chains to aid. We saw are varied amount of people.

Recommend hiking poles on the way down as it pounds the knees for those who don’t have great knees anymore.

Really nice walking. Moderate and not particularly challenging. The forest has loads of old trees dating back 1500 years. Brush box trees are spectacular! Poor things are being attacked by strangling figs. Unfortunately the trees are growing so well anymore due to many reasons so it may not be long before they go.

Nice ponds, brooks, water holes and waterfalls along the way. Definitely worth going to.

This trail is just the most gorgeous place! I did it by myself (I was 15 at the time... possibly 14). At first I thought it was a quick walk but I was gone for hours! It doesn’t take that long to walk but I take millions of photos and I’m constantly stopping to look at trees, animals and the view! The view is breath taking! Strongly recommend!
