Wintersteintour

The cycle/walking route starts in the centre of Wehrheim (town hall/tourist information office), which can be reached from the train station via Bahnhofstraße. The tour goes past the swimming pool, through the Bizzenbachtal valley towards Kapersburg. At the ammunition depot, the trail leads along the Wehrheim railway to the turn-off to the Winterstein car park. Pass the Winterstein inn. Then turn right uphill towards the Winterstein tower. At a fork in the road, turn left following the sign to the Winterstein tower. From there, at a height of 500 metres, you have an inspiring view of the Wetterau, from the Vogelsberg Taufstein to the Odenwald Melibokus. The return journey follows the signs for Wildschwein/Reh directly to the Wehrheim railway. Here you cross a very beautiful part of the Limes, which leads to Kapersburg Castle. Via the Wehrheim railway and the Bizzenbach valley, you return to the centre of Wehrheim.
