The tour starts in the centre of Wehrheim (town hall/tourist information office), which can be reached from the railway station via Bahnhofstraße. At the railway station you reach the cycle path towards Obernhain. From there it goes past the glider airfield to the Oberloh sports ground. The route leads via Kreuzsteinweg to the Schlink car park. From here, take the cycle path to Pfaffenwiesbach. As the route to Friedrichsthal runs along the local road, hikers and Nordic walkers should walk up Forsthausstraße in the village towards the forest to rejoin the track. Cyclists can take the local road to Friedrichsthal. At the height between Pfaffenwiesbach (edge of the forest) and Friedrichsthal, you can either turn right towards the forest and Wehrheim on well-surfaced paths or cycle through Friedrichsthal, following the described track along the beautiful Holzbach valley (partly meadow path for more experienced cyclists). At the end of the Holzbachtal valley, you reach a horse farm and the forest path towards Wehrheim (Wehrheim railway). This leads past the hunting lodge and back to Wehrheim. You reach the town at the level of the Mark/Saalburgsiedlung residential area on Köpperner Straße. The tour now ends either at the railway station or in the centre of Wehrheim.
