Scenic hut hike in the Berchtesgaden National Park, Bavaria.
This hike is a hut crossing from the managed Wasseralm (end of May - beginning of October) to the Carl von Stahl Haus. It goes across wide open spaces through marvellous mountain scenery.
From the Wasseralm, the route is initially fairly flat through the forest and then up to the Hochgeschirr via passages, some of which are secured with wire ropes. Not far away, the idyllic Seeleinsee lake will be past, which invites to take a break. From here, there is a steep ascent to the 2275 metre high Schneibstein. From the highest point of the route, the views are magnificent. The descent is via the normal route, partly through open terrain and partly through mountain pine forest to the Carl von Stahlhaus mountain hut, which is open all year round.
