Königssee zum Funtensee

• Access Information Kärlingerhaus: The Kärlingerhaus is open from May 22 to October 4. Overnight stays must be reserved in advance through the online booking portal. Only cash is accepted on-site. The tour begins with a leisurely crossing of the Königssee by boat to the Salet pier (note the timetable, see tips). The route is a bit more demanding in parts, but offers something great for the eye. From the pier, it goes slightly uphill along the banks of the Königssee and the Obersee through shady forest to the idyllic Fischunkel Alm at the southern end of the lake. The path leads further up to the next highlight - the Röthbachfall. The path continues over the steep, quite narrow and partly exposed Röthsteig to the Röthbachsee and the managed Wasseralm. From there the last ascent to the highest point, the 2368 high Niederbrunnsulzenscharte, is imminent. Accompanied by the magnificent panorama, the shallow descent to the destination begins - the Funtensee and the seasonally managed Kärlingerhaus.
