Versatile mountain hike from Königssee to Gotzenalm, Bavaria.
This beautiful mountain hike begins with a crossing of the Königssee to the final pier at Salet-Alm (observe the shipping timetable; see tips).
From there, the route goes left and follows the signs to the Gotzenalm. The path leads over the Kaunersteig, which is easy to walk. The ascent can be very strenuous but worth it, depending on the weather because of the incredible landscape. In the seasonally managed Gotzenalm, there is the opportunity to stop. Before the route descends to Schönau am Königssee, it is worth detouring the top of the Warteck and the Feuerpalfen vantage point. From there, it is only downhill through beautiful forest, past the Königsbachalm, which is also seasonally managed.
