Starting from the well-known winter sports resort of Garmisch-Patenkirchen, this loop leads along the Kochelberg, past the Rießersee, over the Katzenberg to the Aule-Alm and back to Garmisch. The vegetation changes again and again between forest sections and meadows, from which a wonderful view of the Loisach Valley is possible. This route also leads past the former Olympic bobsled track, which is located near the Riessersee.
