One of the most beautiful tours in the Bavarian Forest: strenuous but very beautiful mountain hike from the valley of the Weißen Regen to the Kaitersberg (ascent to the Kreuzfelsen 580 meters in altitude). The hike along the ridge path with magnificent views of the Zellertal and the Lamer Winkel is one of the most beautiful mountain hikes in the Bavarian Forest. Via Kreuzfelsen, Mittagsstein (refreshment: Kötztinger Hütte, open all year round), Steinbühler Gesenke (alpine character) and the Rauchrohren (rock towers) to the Riedelstein (Waldschmidt monument), from there descent to the mountain saddle from Eck (390 meters in altitude) (refreshment: Berggasthof Eck ). Mostly unpaved hiking trails and climbs, rocky climb on the Kaitersberg (sturdy shoes and sure-footedness required). Between Mühlriegel and Heugstatt there is an arduous ridge path variant and a more comfortable forest path variant via Schareben. Via the Ödriegel, Schwarzeck, Enzian and Kleinen Arber (refreshment: Chamer Hütte) it goes to the Großer Arber (refreshment: Arberschutzhaus).
