Popular loop trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
On foot through the Koetzting floodplains. Passing below the imposing fortified church, you leave the city to the west, against the course of the Weisser Regen river (refreshment stop: Hex'nheis'l). Passing the mill wheel of the river educational trail and romantic river meanders as well as across spacious meadows at the Herrenweiher, the path first leads to a large field cross. From there it goes on a meadow trail and along a weir to the former Sperlhammer ironworks site. There is an impressive mansion there. After approx. 1 km on agricultural paths and through floodplain meadows you reach the nearby village of Beckendorf (refreshments: Café-Restaurant Kauer; Zur Ziegelhuette) with its beautiful village green and village chapel. From there, the trail leads back to the city center on the sidewalk.
