Scenic hike to the Schwarzwihrberg, Bavaria.
The route starts at the parking lot near the Hotel Bergfried on the outskirts of the town of Rötz. From there it goes straight uphill over the Schützsteig to the 690 meter high local mountain of the town of Rötz, the Schwarzwihrberg. The Schwarzenburg bow ruins are located here and can be visited all year round. From there and finally from the summit of the Schwarzwihrberg, wonderful views open up
the Schwarzachtal. There are places to stop for refreshments on the castle hill (note opening times)
The route back goes downhill and through the forest.
