Jasmund National Park is located on the Jasmund peninsula in the northeast area of Rügen Island in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is famous for containing the largest chalk cliffs in Germany, the Königsstuhl, meaning "King's Chair". This is Germany's smallest national Park, and is characterized by its chalky white cliffs and beech forests. Its location on the Baltic Sea makes it an excellent place to view different species of birds.
