Switch off from everyday life and off the busy roads enjoy the varied natural landscape of the mountain road and the front Odenwaldes. In the immediate vicinity of the historic old town, on the small market, begins this tour. It leads over the Burgweg and Kanonenweg up to the observatory below the Starkenburg, providing wonderful panoramic views over the city and into the side valleys of the Odenwald. Along a ridge between the Hambacher valley and the Kirschhäuser valley, reach the "Helenenruhe", passing through beautiful mixed forests to the refuge "Jägerrast". Further, the ascending forest path leads to the Krehberg, the highest point of our tour, and the Odenwald. From here, enjoy the view towards the Rhine plain and the Melibokus. After a short drive you'll reach the viewpoint, "Mathildenruhe", which has a nice view to the Neunkirchner Höhe and the spa town of Lindenfels. The way back is fast downhill, past Heiligenberg and Eselsberg, until it reaches the northern ridge of the Hambacher Tal. A cultural landscape opens up, presenting a harmonious interaction between wine and arable farming, as well as nature in some areas. Through the vineyard "Steinkopf", past the "Winzerrast" with a marvelous view to Starkenburg and into the Rhine plain, it arrives back to the starting point.Show more

Excellent urban to forest loop with easy access to parking. Plenty of food and drink options at start/finish for refreshments. Trails are well-maintained and shared by mountain bikers and hikers alike. Approximately 2 miles of the downhill portion incorporates a mildly technical single track for bikers with some challenges. Length: 18.6 mi • Est. 9 h 30 m
Starts and ends opposite the parking lot "Gustavsruhe" above the youth campground directly below the castle Breuberg near Breuberg-Neustadt. From there it goes over forest roads in the direction of Sandbach, then above the AHG clinic in a downhill through a Trailhohlweg down to the "gravel hump" in the outskirts of Breuberg-Sandbach. After a driveway over meadows, with wonderful views of the castle Breuberg and the districts of Breuberg the route goes on forest path and trails and meadow paths in the direction of Sandbacher See. At Sandbacher See there is also an entry-level opportunity, with start and finish, into the track. Behind the Sandbacher Lake it goes over a small jetty and then in the direction of Höchst. Then in serpentines over several tlw. Challenging trails in the direction of Hetschbach to the parking lot Rondell on the B45. Here's another way to get started and finish. From here on trails and trails parallel to the B45 first below (great views to the west and on celebrations Otzberg) and then above the quarry "Silverwald nature reserve" back towards Sandbach. From there on forest roads and trails on the saddle between Hainstadt and forest Amorbach. Here is the opportunity to change to the mountain bike route "Mö1" of Mömlingen (about 200m connection). About short asphalt runway near the youth campground it goes over steep descent at forest Amorbach then trails and forest trails towards Hainstadt and back to the starting point on Breuberg. There are almost no motorways to drive on or cross this route. The route was chosen with consideration for nature and forest as well as hunters, hikers and walkers.Show more
