The hike begins in Teschendorf. At the southern exit of the village, first turn to the right. Instead of following the road to Westerbergen, you hike over narrow grass paths towards the beach. When you reach the dike, turn left and after about 1 km you will reach Gold. After another kilometer you can visit the Alwerstein, a megalithic grave.
You continue walking on the dike past the campsite and you come to the Strukkamphuk lighthouse. After another 400 m of the dyke, you come to an asphalt path that leads to the Fehmarnsund Bridge. The bridge was ceremonially opened to traffic on April 30, 1963, two weeks before the Vogelfluglinie opened. The bridge is 963.4 m long, 21 m wide and leads over the sound on seven pillars.
The hike leads parallel to the access ramp of the bridge to the left over a picturesque avenue to Strukkamp. You walk through the village and keep to the right at the end of the village. After about 2km you get back to Teschendorf.
