This is the official route of the "Berlin Wall Race" in Berlin.
The 161 km long Berlin Wall Race commemorates the victims of the former border that divided Germany between 1961 and 1989. The route largely follows the previous course of the Berlin Wall with a distance of 100 miles (160.9 km) around western Berlin. The run always takes place on a weekend around August 13th (= day of the construction of the wall). The route is mostly flat and paved and leads through urban areas, forests and meadows. The racetrack changes direction every year.
