Historical, multi-faceted circular hiking trail in Berlin / Brandenburg. The Berlin Wall Trail follows the course of the former GDR border systems to West Berlin. It leads around and through Berlin for over 160 km. The circular hiking trail can be conquered on foot or by bike. Historical sights alternate with beautiful natural landscapes on the Zoll- und Kolonnenweg. The Wall Trail is well signposted throughout and in many places multilingual boards provide information about the history of the construction of the Wall and the division of Berlin. The dead on the Berlin Wall are remembered at 29 locations. The central memorial for the dead is on the site of the memorial on Bernauer Strasse. The Berlin Wall Trail can be divided into 14 individual routes. Whether for a walk, bike tour or hike, everyone will find the right route here. All starting and ending points can be reached by public transport. It is generally possible to take bicycles with you there. A hike through Spandau and Brandenburg - Wall Trail, Sacrower See and Castle, and Heilandskirche are on the program. The route mainly leads through Sacrow and around Lake Sacrow. Sacrow Castle included a thousand-year-old oak, orchards, a garden designed by Lenné, Thusnelda (a statue) and the Heilandskirche. The whole beautiful ensemble was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Otherwise, as almost everywhere now, beaver tracks.
