This route is a classic among via ferratas and one of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in the Alps. It starts at the valley station of the Karwendelbahn. For a fee, it goes up to the mountain station. Good weather and an early start are required on the route. Bring your own helmet and suitable equipment. The short via ferrata on the western Karwendelspitze is also highly recommended. Before you start, it is advisable to find out about the travel times of the Karwendelbahn (see tips).
