It starts in Mittenwald near the Karwendelbahn valley station. It goes steadily uphill past the abandoned Rehbergalm. This is where the really promising part of the path begins with wonderful views of the Karwendel Mountains. We continue to the managed highland hut (1,623 m), which invites you to linger and of course to enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding northern Karwendel peaks. After a well-deserved rest, it goes quite steeply in a zigzag up to the highest point: the Wörnersattel at 1,989 m. The descent is via the Ochsensteig back to the starting point of the route.
