Scenic summit hike in the Wetterstein Mountains from Mittenwald, Bavaria. There is lots of variety as well as excellent mountain cinema the route has to offer. In Mittenwalde, at the train station, starts the loop into the mountain world of the Wetterstein Mountains. Most of the peaks of this mountain range are significant and quite challenging to climb. However, in the extreme east of the Wetterstein waits for the Grünkopf. In relation to the prominent peaks, it is easier and faster to reach the summit there (but still nothing for the untrained!). You should bring endurance, surefootedness, and suitable footwear for this half-day hike. After beautiful views, the Ferchensee, the Lautersee, and a stone garden are waiting after the descent. A detour to the Lainbach waterfall can also be planned. There are refreshment stops at each of the lakes. Highlights of the hike: - Stop for refreshments at the Ederkanzel Mountain Inn. - Climb to the top of the Grünkopf with a magnificent panoramic view. - Idyllic Lautersee and Ferchensee lakes ------------------------- Reachable by bus and train
