Popular circular hiking trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
Leave Kolmberger Straße a few metres after the end of the village on a hilltop on the left. After 150 metres, the trail leads into the forest to the Plarnhof chapel (approx. 1 km). A narrow tarmac road leads past the hamlet of Plarnhof for approx. 800 metres, which leads into a wider road. Cross this road and after approx. 1.5 km you will reach Lederdorn on dirt tracks over a hill. Shortly after the church, follow the main road to the right and after 200 metres turn left towards Ramsried. Soon turn left again. The path gradually ascends towards the summit of the Haidstein with its castle ruins, mountain church and forester's lodge. Descending through the forest, you reach your next destination after approx. 2 km: the 1,000-year-old Wolfram lime tree in Ried. Before the lime tree, the path branches off to the right and after 1.8 km leads to the state road at Gadsdorf, which you follow on the left for 300 metres to Reckendorf. At the end of this village, leave the tarmac road on the right and after 2.5 km you reach Blaibach again via field and forest paths on the Gsteinetstraße. There is a refreshment stop at the Haidstein mountain inn (May-October).
