Eschenlohe-Enningalm

From the motorway exit Eschenlohe (625m) head south. Always follow the forest track towards Höhenberg. In Katzental turn left out of the valley. At 720m turn left onto the trail to the 7 benches and down to Oberau. Follow the Giessenbach footpath to St. Georg. On the Hirschbergweg or Spielleitenweg to Farchant (680m). At Lahnenwiesgraben turn right onto the forest road to Enningalm. Follow this road and the signposts to the Enningalm. At the Enningalm (1560m), turn left onto the trail to the Rotmoosalm (1200m), which, apart from a few hairpin bends, mostly crosses the steep slope. Follow the Elmaubach out of the valley "chain right" in a rushing ride to the junction (930m) Oberammergau/Ettal, from now on to Ettal. In Ettal (880m) cross the B23 and turn left onto the path towards Notkarspitze. At the first junction (900m) in the forest turn left and onto the B23. A forest path branches off to the right (Alte Bergstrasse/Alte Ettaler Strasse), which leads straight down quite steeply to Oberau (700m). In Oberau, turn left towards Loisachblick. You soon reach the forest path to Höllenstein and the tarmac road to Eschenlohe.
