Rund ums Ettaler Mandl

From the motorway exit Eschenlohe (625m) in the direction of Höllenstein (630m). Shortly before the motorway exit, turn right towards Ettaler Mandl. Always follow the signs. After approx. 7km turn right steeply up into the forest, first on a cart track, later on a narrow path. You end up near Bärenbadflecken. From there, take a detour to the Soile Alm (1325m). From there take the forest road to Oberammergau, at 1070m turn right onto the trail into the Lainetal valley. In Oberammergau, follow the Kaserenmauer and turn left onto the trail along the B23, follow this until you reach the Ettaler Höhenweg. In Ettal (880m), cross the B23 and turn left onto the path towards Notkarspitze. At the first junction (900m) turn left into the forest and cross the Giessenbach (820m). You come to a forest path (Alte Bergstrasse/Alte Ettaler Strasse), which leads steeply down to Oberau (700m). In Oberau, turn left into Mühlstrasse and follow it to the football pitch, where you turn off towards Loisachblick. You soon reach the forest path to Höllenstein and the tarmac road to Eschenlohe.
