This popular circular hike with scenic views in Saxon Switzerland near Hohnstein begins
at the parking lot on the outskirts of Hohnstein. The trail leads through the village for a short distance before entering the forest—also known as “Brand,” because a devastating fire raged here in the 18th century. Under the spreading tree canopies, the trail continues to the Brandaussicht viewpoint. The Brandaussicht, with the Brandbaude, is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Saxon Switzerland, offering magnificent views of the Polenz Valley.
If you take the same path back from the Brandbaude, the route is accessible to wheelchair users. It is also dog-friendly and suitable for strollers.
