This popular excursion destination in the impressive rock formations of the Saxon Switzerland National Park is explored from Rathewalde. The car can be parked there and it is possible to get a refreshment after the excursion. From the car park, the trail leads to some of the most famous rock formations in Saxon Switzerland. There are great views at the Wehlsteinaussicht, Ferdinandaussicht and the famous Batei Bridge, for example. From there, the trail descends into the Amselgrund, past the shores of the beautiful Amselsee lake. The next highlight of the tour await past the Amselsee and uphill to the Schwedenlöcher. This is an adventurous, gorge-like ravine that goes through rocky alleyways, over 700 steps, and several iron ladders. Finally, you return to the starting point via the Gansweg.
