This is one of nine historical loop trails to the Battle of Hürtgenwald. Recognizable are traces from World War 2, when the Hürtgenwald was one of the heavily fought areas between Americans and Germans.
Shortly after starting at the Ochsenkopf parking lot near Raffelsbrand, old emplacements and cover holes from World War II can be discovered. Along the route, other bunker ruins await along the way, as well as memorials to the fallen.
