This scenic route leads around the Baldeneysee, where the beautiful Ruhr Valley landscape can be experienced up close. It starts at the parking lot at the EWSC. In an easterly direction to the Hardenbergufer where the lake is crossed over the bridge. Mostly along the shore it goes back. Forests, hills, narrow paths and meadows await.
The ruins of the Esener Isenburg are passed above the lake as well as the small forest areas Baldeneyer Wald and Kruppwald. The Heisinger Bogen bird sanctuary awaits in the south of the city of Essen. There are a few places to stop for refreshments along the route.
