This route follows Stage 1 of the Bergischer Weg and connects Essen-Baldeney with Velbert. From the Baldeney hiking parking lot, the trail leads through beech forests, past Isenburg Castle, to Lake Baldeney. It follows the shore past the Carl Funke coal mine into the Heisinger Bogen bird sanctuary and crosses the Ruhr River via a former railroad bridge to Kupferdreh. Following the Moosbach stream, the route continues into the Hespertal valley and through the Langenhorster Forest to Velbert....

First you walk through the shady forest following the Hesperbach and then cross the Hammer Mark back in the direction of the Ruhr. The "normal" permanent CTF of the Essen RG 1900 eV from 2017. This route is not for the "just plain". Although this "normal" version is clearly defused, it is more demanding than most permanent ones with about 42 km and over 700 meters in altitude!
