The rather challenging route leads via the Geitauer Alm (open seasonally) to the summit of the Aiplspitz and back the same way. There are safety ropes around the summit and hikers should have a head for heights, especially on the summit ridge. The summit should be avoided in wet conditions and in winter as it can be dangerous. Instead, the alpine pasture is a good place to rest.
