This is a marvellous loop through the Mangfallgebirge, a limestone massif near the Chiemgau mountains on the Austrian border. The ridges offer fantastic views of the Inntal valley to the east and the Karwendel mountains to the west.
The tour starts in Geitau near Bayrischzell. For the most part, it runs along forest roads. As the route makes its way through the forest, it gradually becomes steeper and steeper until it reaches the summit cross. The descent is also steep. On the way back, the route passes the picturesque Soinsee lake, which is a real refreshment in summer. A little further on, the Schellenberg Alm offers seasonal refreshments.
