Popular loop trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
The starting point is the gold village of Friedersried with its Romanesque church made of sandstone (oldest church in northern Bavaria, built in 1159). The trail leads past the inn (refreshments available) to the western end of the village in the direction of Neubaeu am See. There you turn left to the Jagelhof and then reach Raubersried. Here you have the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the newly built Feldkreuz hiking trail (since 2012, walking time approx. 1 hour) with its legendary stations or to follow hiking trail 40 to Thanried. At the entrance to Thanried, keep to the left and follow the signs through Thanried. At the end of Thanried, the hike leads back to Friedersried on natural or field paths. A connection to hiking trail 64 is possible from the Jagelhof.
Highlights of the hike:
- Idyllic field and forest paths
- Golddorf Friedersried with church
- Raubersried
- Thanried
