The starting point is at the Russenbräu inn in Tiefenbach. The path leads along the Waldbadstraße to the end of the village at the "Waldbad". Shortly after the Waldbadgaststätte, you can decide whether to continue straight ahead or choose the right path via the Schönbrunnen chapel. On this right-hand route, after about 1.1 km you come across the Tb7 hiking trail and after another kilometer you reach the Schönbrunnen chapel along rosary wayside shrines. After about 200 meters you come across the alternative path again and after about 2.5 km you come back to the forest pool. If you follow the path in the direction of Frauenstein, the next kilometer is the steepest part. After another 700 meters, the path leads sharply to the right up the Signalberg to the ruins of Frauenstein Castle, the destination of the hike. From there, it's the same way back to the village of Altenschneeberg without any major changes in direction. There you can make a short detour to the castle hill and enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. You then descend over the Schneeberg slopes to Tiefenbach to the starting point.
