Loop
Scenic and beautiful cycle tour in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia.
This loop goes along the Zollverein route past Zollverein, to the Rhine-Herne Canal, and from there towards Zoom. From Zoom, the route follows the Erzbahntrasse back towards the south of Gelsenkirchen. The route runs almost exclusively on cycle paths, only crossing roads. The paths are unsuitable for racing bikes and best suited to mountain or touring bikes. From Zollverein to the Rhine-Herne Canal, the new cycle path can now be used, replacing a less beautiful section of this tour.
Highlights of the route:
- Beautiful natural landscapes
- Local flora and fauna
- Beautiful views
