This route is stage 4 of the Chiemgautour, running from the Priener Hütte to Hohenaschau in the Chiemgau Alps. The path climbs over gentle slopes to the Geigelstein summit (1,813 m), the highest point of the tour, before traversing the Roßalm plateau to the Weitlahnerkopf and descending a cable-secured trail to the Dalsensattel. Starting point: parking lot at the festival hall (620 m) First climb towards Kampenwand in the forest until you come to a ski slope. On this further direction Hirschenstein, past this and to the Kampenwandbahn (1460 m). Past the Sonnenalm and Kampenwandhütte (1500 m) to the Steinlingalm (1448 m). Continue past the eastern summit of the Kampenwand towards the Hochalpenkopf to start the return journey from there.

Multi-day hike from Innerwald im Chiemgau. This hike is better reached by car than public transport. However, the wonderful views from the Schreck-Alm are worth all the effort.

The stage from the Kampenwand mountain to the Priener Hut displays fantastic views and lovely meadowland. However a short stretch, the climb to the Weitlahnerkopf, is secured by cables and requires you to be sure of foot.
