The Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide Nature Park is located off the beaten track in the largest contiguous forest area in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is home to some of the most beautiful clear water lakes in Central Europe, which provide a great habitat for white-tailed eagles, cranes and chattering greylag geese. In addition to unforgettable nature observations, this sparsely populated area is also a wonderful place to watch the starry sky, as the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park is one of the regions with the least light pollution in Germany.

  1. #1 - Um den Bergsee Alt Gaarz

    Loop around the mountain lake starting in Alt Gaarz. After you've worked up a sweat, you can take a dip in the bathing area. The mountain lake lies within the boundaries of the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide nature reserve. There are also plenty of opportunities to extend the route into the forest if you want a longer route.

  2. #2 - Paschensee Loop

    This relatively short route begins in Wooster-Teerofen, where there are places to camp, and explores the Paschensee nature reserve, which is located in the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide nature reserve. The path is quite heavily forested and offers views of the lake. The nature is quite pristine and has little traffic.

    Relaxing hike in the Mildenitztal in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. This 5 km long circular trail starts near Dobbertin and is located in the beautiful Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide nature park. Suitable for both runners and hikers, part of the way goes along the "Schwarzer See" and you can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere here. After about an hour, the starting point is reached again. Worth seeing: Dobbertin Monastery (still used today as a welfare work)
