Spring Creek Falls – also known as "Black Rock Waterfalls" is a popular swimming hole in the Mowbray Valley. The trail to reach it is mostly off-trail and it requires a bit of rock hopping and scrambling.
The path passes through a rock littered path, past small pools and at times through lush green tunnel created by the tree canopy before opening up at the main pool with the falls. Take lunch and your swimmers and enjoy the day at the pool.

This is a great hike with some steep climbs and plenty of rainforest. Be prepared for a fairly steep first 2-3 km which then levels out. After crossing the river find the turnoff on the right which leads to Mowbray Falls, with some steep and slippery descents. the views and the falls are stunning. Be careful to get get too close to the edge as the ground is rocky and slippery. The Bump Track is a beautiful rainforest trail over the ridge near Julatten, Queensland.
This track is on the harder side of moderate due to the steep climb and tricky sections on the track. It is a mix of open fire trail narrow bush tracks. It will take more time to complete than expected. If hiking, and looking for an even greater challenge, you can add in the trail to Big Mowbray Falls.

A beautiful bushwalk out to the falls near Julatten, Queensland.
The route starts as an open fire trail, then becomes a narrow bush track. There are a few sections that are thick bush and with fallen trees to navigate. The reward is the views when you arrive at the falls. Getting to the bottom of the falls is steep and tricky plus the trail can be slippery.

Bump Track West is a lesser travelled trail exploring some of the bushland near the Mowbray National Park, located not too far south from Port Douglas in Far North Queensland. The trail begins from Black Mountain Road, where you'll find a small open area for parking.
The trail itself is nice and wide most of the way and relatively easy to navigate as it leads you through the forest down to the Billabong Track and back again.

The Twin Bridges track follows the route of the original Black Mountain Road, to the east of where the current road lies. The trail leaves from from Black Mountain Road and re-joins it a few kilometres from the Bump track.
