Awesome walk. Steep decent at falls end. River not flowing much this time of year.

very steep. trail is nice and wide and mainly smooth. beware of turning right at the pink marker, we didn't make it far before we heard a low growl from an unknown animal.

Serious hike. Moderate rating does not do it justice. 3 of the 4 miles are uphill, but reasonably moderate. The last mile to the waterfall, straight through the overgrown rain forest, is no joke. Absolutely worth it, but will require scrambling downhill, vaulting fallen trees, and relying on vines like Tarzan to make your way back to civilization. TOTALLY worth the workout, but hiking shoes/boots very much recommended. Machete optional.

Surprisingly nice trail with very few people. The fist hour and 15min you go over a steep but broad track, an old escape route in times of invasion. Then you take a small path on your right, marked with pink or white/red plastic ribbons on the branches of the trees. This path goes through the rainforest, over fallen trees and down to the river on top of the waterfall. After one hour on the small track you reach a stunning river where you can swim. 100m Downstream you are at the top of the giant waterfall. Amazing!

Ça grimpe énormément au début mais le sentier est toujours large est assez facile après ! Arrivé à la rivière , aller 100m sur la droite pour arriver à la cascade

An alternative is to start at the Black Mountain Road end of the Bump track (I’m putting it here because there isn’t a separate entry). From there walk 1.4km to the turn off down to Mowbray Falls. From Black Mountain Road to the top of the falls is 3.2km (which took me just under 50 minutes, walking quickly on my own). You’ll need to budget some time for swimming in rock pools and climbing on rocks next to the falls. When I went (in July) I only passed one other group. It was lovely to have this place entirely to myself.

You follow the Bump Track first on a good and wide walking track. Don‘t miss the turnoff out to the Falls. It‘s just a narrow track through the rainforest. It‘s marked well but the beginning can be missed easely.

Completed June 2019 Agree with David Whyte's review although I assume we were a little less muddy compared to March, still muddy in spots tho. One can get a view of the falls from afar just down from The Landing - we missed this on the way up as it was heads down and plodding up hill!

Awesome hike, Completed March 2019. Not sure if it was due to a near record wet season, or maybe I'm getting old, but I wouldn't rate this hike as easy. I'd rate an easy hike as one you could take young kids on. This is definitely a medium walk. Slatey Pinch near the start of the hike is a relentless half hour climb. Keep your eyes open for Black snakes, we saw a couple. No signage at the intersection of the Mowbray Falls track and it's easy to miss. Alltrails map confirmed it was the right track. Beautiful rainforest on the way to Mowbray Falls, however many trees were down and the track was overgrown, muddy and slippery making it tricky to navigate at times. The wet season probably isn't everyone's idea of the best time to do this walk but we didn't have to share the Falls with anyone else. Highly recommended.

An easy walk. it was tagged but they have been removed last time I went in Nov 18. Have been several times taking overseas tourists for a look at a wonderful fall.
