Panoramic circular route to the landmark of Rügen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
This circular route starts at the railway station in Sassnitz. There are also car parks and you can also travel there by bus. From there, the trail leads into the Jasmund National Park. Via Wedding, the route enters the UNESCO World Heritage beech forest of the national park and climbs steadily up to the first viewpoint over the Baltic Sea and the spectacular chalk cliffs - the Wissower Klinken.
The Wissower Klinken were a much-visited chalk formation, but they fell into the sea during a storm in 2005. However, the view is well worth the effort. Caution! Due to the danger of falling, you should only approach the cliffs as far as the marked points.
From there you cycle over the Werder to Hagen and idyllically through the forest via Buddenhagen back to Sassnitz.
