Popular circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
The starting point of the "Waldecker Rundweg" is at the Bavarian Forest Animal Park Lohberg. From there, the tour starts at a leisurely pace through the village of Schwarzenbach. At the upper end of the village, you leave the road and the trail leads through a light forest path with small ascents up to Hinterwaldeck. Once there, the farmed "Einödhof Waldeck" invites you to stop for a bite to eat. There are pastures and a small chapel around the farm. The way back leads past a farm at Vorderwaldeck. There you have a clear view down to the village of Lam and across to the two striking Osser peaks. The route then continues along beautiful forest paths back to the starting point.
