Very beautiful panoramic tour to the "Lohberger Steindl" viewing rock - with a fantastic view over the Lamer Winkel. The starting point is the small village of Altlohberghütte. It is easily accessible by public transport. If you prefer to drive, there is a spacious car park for hikers in Altlohberghütte. The route is initially marked "Lo8". The path climbs steeply and initially in an almost straight line. After approx. 850 metres, you reach a forest road, which you follow to the left for only a short distance, approx. 200 metres. After this short breather, cross northwards into the slope, continuing to follow the "Lo8" markings. Not quite 400 metres from the forest road, you will suddenly find yourself in front of an imposing, overhanging rock face. The lower part is covered in yellow sulphur lichen. The trail continues upwards along the massif, where a small path leads up to the rocky head of the Lohberger Steindl. The view across the mountain range from the Eck to the Großer Arber and into the valley of the Lamer Winkel is marvellous. This marked hiking trail is a destination trail, i.e. you take the same route back to the starting point.
